An ELA technology standard I feel pretty comfortable teaching in my classroom is the LAFS.5.RL.3.7. standard regarding visual and multimedia elements. Programs that can be used to illustrate this standard are PowerPoint, Prezi, and ebooks. I feel confident teaching those because I have previous experience with it. I also think that it will be very helpful in the grade that I want to teach. One of the standards I think I will have a little bit of trouble with is LAFS.5.SL.1.2. This standard utilizes TeacherTube and YouTube videos to instruct students. The reason I think I may need some instruction on this standard is because I genuinely don't know what is and is not grade level appropriate for kids to watch in school. I don't want to show my students something that is too advanced and will not help them learn.

I cannot stress enough how much I LOVED the Newsletter Design assignment. I felt like I had free reign over what I wanted to put in my bulletin and it truly made me feel like a real teacher. My favorite part of this assignment was that I got to pick the grade level for my newsletter and write the way I would as a teacher. If I had to change something, I would have allotted myself more time for this assignment. I think I could have produced better and more creative work had I not been sick or working on a tight schedule. I definitely think this will help me in the future when I am teaching kindergarten to connect with the parents of my students and give me some credibility since I will be a young and new teacher.

Adaptive technologies are extremely helpful to learners who have disabilities. Things like screen readers, braille printing in 3D printers, and online sign interpretations can be an essential part of educating those with either visual or auditory loss. Before this assignment, I definitely did not know how to use Excel. About a week before this assignment, I was trying to make a measurement chart and it took me at least an hour and a half to get my chart the way I wanted it, and even then it was still not right. Now that I know how to use a variety of tools through Excel, I can see myself using it in my classroom. I think it would be really helpful to keep track of grades, like an online gradebook. It could also be a great way to keep track of class attendance. I always resorted to using different methods to keep track of these things since I was not comfortable using Excel, but now that I understand it a little bit better, I think I will definitely utilize it in the future.  From reviewing my classmates' blogs throughout the semester, it was interesting to see how much my view of education has widened.
